The Black Dragon is the most coveted water monitor on earth — a hyper-melanistic Varanus salvator that reads solid black from snout to tail tip, patternless from the day it hatches. It's the animal that put this species on the map for collectors, and it's my flagship line.

Why it's the icon
A great Black Dragon holds its color from hatchling to adult and reads pure black in any light — no spotting, no fade. Historically described from the islands and coast of southwest Thailand, it's a naturally occurring melanistic form of the species. Producing it consistently takes selective, deliberate pairing. That's the work I care about most.

T- Black Dragons — coming soon
The next step for this line is the T- Black Dragon: albino genetics on a hyper-melanistic base. They're coming — pricing lands with them, and I'll always consider reasonable offers on the high-end animals. In the meantime I produce Black Dragons 66% het T-, which is how you get in early on that project.
